Our Animals

Meet Our Wonderful Animals

Here at Inspiring Animal Therapy, we have a big selection of amazing therapy animals who are all specially trained for their job role. Animal welfare is our number 1 priority. All our animals are cared for to the highest standard which shines throughout the way they interact with people during our visits.

About Our Animals

Sheep

We have a team of sheep, each with its own unique personality. Our sheep are best suited for outdoor visits and are perfect for leading around and enjoying a little pampering.

Ponies

Rummy and Rosie stand at just 32 inches tall, making them perfect for coming indoors. They wear special sparkly shoes and a nappy to ensure any accidents are taken care of. They absolutely love being groomed and are happy to stand still for hours, enjoying the attention.

Chickens

Our chickens are a joy to watch and absolutely love playing fetch with a mealworm. They’re especially popular with our older clients, but they bring smiles to people of all ages. In addition to their playful personalities, they also lay delicious eggs—and occasionally, they even do so while on the job!

Guinea Pigs

We have a variety of guinea pigs, from smooth-coated to long-haired and fluffy. These delightful little animals make wonderful companions and absolutely love snuggling.

Skinny Pigs

Our Skinny Pigs may not be for everyone, but we find them irresistibly adorable. True to their name, they have a smooth, skin-like texture and emit warmth thanks to their high metabolism.

Hedgehogs

Our small team of hedgehogs are superb at educating children about worry and anxiety due to their different response to interacting. They are rather like a spikey hamster. Surprisingly they aren’t always as spikey as you might think.

Chinchillas

Our Chinchillas live in a group. They can be fast but have the most amazing feel. They love to give chinchilla kisses with their long whiskers.

Mice

We have a lively group of mice who love to climb and explore. They don’t mind where they do their business, but don’t worry—we’re always ready with wipes! These charming little characters especially enjoy when our children create giant mouse emporiums for them to play in. They’re a big hit with our younger clients!

Giant Snails

Our giant snails may be slimy, but they are truly fascinating to watch as they glide along. While they may not be for everyone, their unique movements are certainly captivating as they drag their home along with them.

Dogs

We’re fortunate to have three wonderful therapy dogs on our team. Lilo and Luna, the older and more experienced duo, take everything in stride. Luna has a special affinity for care homes, while Lilo loves spending time with our younger clients. Nellie, still in training, can sometimes get a bit overexcited, but she’s absolutely adorable, especially when she gazes at you with her puppy eyes.

Cat

Meet our lovely therapy Cat, Pandora. She is a ragdoll Cat and loves being stroke while she falls asleep on knees.

Rabbits

At Inspiring Animal Therapy CIC, we have a small but wonderful group of rabbits as part of our team. While only a few enjoy sitting on laps, they all love to interact and spend time with you, especially when their favourite treats are involved. Just a heads-up—Doug, our Netherland Dwarf, is known for showering you with plenty of licks!

Snake

Forest is a snow corn snake. He is believed to be about 4 years old and is over 4 foot long. He is very friendly and loves to wrap himself around you.

Bearded Dragon

Spike is our friendly and popular male bearded dragon. He’s very docile and loves to sit on your knee, observing everything around him. With his unique textures, Spike is a fascinating creature to explore and interact with. He also enjoys having a warm bath during some of our sessions, adding to his charm and character.

Millipedes

Our millipedes offer a soft, gentle tickle as they move delicately along. They are incredibly calm and handle with care. Many of our clients are pleasantly surprised by how much they enjoy interacting with these fascinating creatures.

Tortoise

Our tortoise is still a baby and quite small, just one year old. He grows slowly to ensure his shell becomes strong and durable. At this stage, he’s small enough to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand.

Leopard Gecko

Our beautiful Leopard Gecko’s have contrasting colour’s that make them stand out. They are very chilled and like to sit on your knee. Most Gecko’s fit on the palm of your hand.
